New Year Resolution: Tunde Bakare to contest

The preacher who contested and lost alongside Muhammadu Buhari, in 2011 as vice presidential candidate had declared his intention to run for the presidency. 
Tunde Bakare, is Pastor at The Latter Rain Assembly, made this declaration in Ogba Lagos, while speaking to the congregation at the service to mark the New Year. 

A lawyer by training, Pastor Bakare had previously worked in the law firms of Gani Fawehinmi - the late human rights activist and Rotimi Williams. 



As Pastor, he did not shy away from national discuss, lending his voice to and was critical to past administrations. He was one of the prime movers of the SNG, and was vocal in criticizing previous administrations, calling for good governance and accountability. Pastor Tunde Bakare is said to have warned Moshood Abiola about the June 12, 1992 elections and had also prophesied Gen. Abacha's death. 

However, it is perceived that he has not been vocal with his criticism with this present administration as he did with previous once, and many wonder why. This is another reason why his announcement to run for the presidency is greeted with mix feelings. 

Tunde Bakare is a Televangelist and Host of "Moment of Truth", a recorded paid programme on Nigerian Television.
